Saturday Night's Alright For Fighting
Today has been semi-productive, I guess. My mom called at 9:30 this morning and it woke Kaity up. Mom, any time before noon is too early for a college student. I was online for a while and then I read some more of Sophie's World as well. I took a nap. I love naps. Then, lunch and more research on immortality. I am getting really fed up with the Wade-Giles romanization system. Pinyin kicks Wade-Giles's ass. At least Pinyin doesn't use frickin' apostrophes or have a p make a b sound. This year I learned that Beijing has always been pronounced that way. It's not a Bombay to Mumbai transition type thing. Peking is just the W-G way of romanizing it. It's really stupid. After I was bored to tears (or maybe it was just the old book must), I watched Mystery Men. I love that movie. Then, schlepped over to the field house. I did a half hour on the treadmill. I did intervals. Running at 5.5 for 2 minutes is getting easier. At the banquet last night, one of the guys who got the Coach's Award earned it by slimming down for rugby. I want to do that only even more. I know that it's a long way off. I don't even really care about losing weight. I just want to be able to keep up with everybody on the team. I want to last a full practice. Spring season is going to be a bitch but I'm going to get a lot of playing time. After that, I got dinner (sub and minestrone, yum!) and then tried to read more of this 43 page journal article that is really helpful but boring as hell. It's Saturday night and I'm in my room. Yep, what a wild college kid I am.
